A Wedding Prayer

Today is the beginning.
In the years that lie ahead
May you always share the love you have
This day as you are wed.

I pray you’ll each be one on whom
The other can depend,
And may you share not only love,
But be each other’s friend.

Some hopes may not be realized,
Some dreams may not come true,
But many of them will, I know,
To bless the two of you.

Within the home that you will have,
I pray you’ll always find
Contentment, joy, security,
Good health and peace of mind.

from the Book of Common Prayer

Give them wisdom and devotion in the ordering of their common life that each may be to the other a strength in need, a counselor in perplexity, a comfort in sorrow, and a companion in joy. Amen

I Cross My Heart

(George Strait, music and words by Steve Doroff and Eric Kaz)

Our love is unconditional, we knew it from the start.
I see it in your eyes, you can feel it from my heart.
From here on after let’s stay the way we are right now,
And share all the love and laughter
That a lifetime will allow.

I cross my heart and promise to
Give all I’ve got to give to make all your dreams come true.
In all the world you’ll never find a love as true as mine.

You will always be the miracle that makes my life complete,
And as long as there’s a breath in me, I’ll make yours just as sweet.
As we look into the future, it’s as far as we can see,
So let’s make each tomorrow be the best that it can be.

I cross my heart and promise to
Give all I’ve got to give to make all your dreams come true.
In all the world you’ll never find a love as true as mine.

And if along the way we find a day it starts to storm,
You’ve got the promise of my love to keep you warm.
In all the world you’ll never find a love as true as mine,
A love as true as mine.

For my Dad with all my Love…

Your little girl is all grown up
and has found a love so true,
but a special place in my heart
will always belong to you.

Real Life Wedding Vows…

Do you Chris, promise to always agree with Suzanne, in rightness or in wrongness, forsaking all logic, thus saving a fortune in marriage counseling and legal fees, for as long as you both shall live?

Wedding Prayer

We have shared your life and love
And now we send you on
Knowing that the love you’ve promised here
Will keep you strong.

Share with us if ever
There is something we can do.
Know that you are loved,
And love will always be our prayer for you!

I Thee Wed

I cannot turn my back just now,
I sense your need of me.
I am here.
I married you
Not only for the good that I can take
But for all that I can give.
I understand.
I accept.
I thee wed.

To the Bride and Groom

(Grace Mandry)

May friends and family be your anchor
May contentment always reign
May your love be everlasting
And your glass filled with champagne

Apache Wedding Prayer

Now you will feel no rain, for each
of you will be shelter to the other.

Now you will feel no cold, for each
of you will be warmth to the other.

Now there is no more loneliness, for each
of you will be companion to the other.

Now you are two persons,
But there is only one life before you.

Go now to your dwelling place
To enter into the days of your togetherness

And may your days be good
and long upon the earth.

Poem for Seed Packet Wedding Favors

These seed we give are a symbol of our love.
Planted like our vows grown with care and love .
Watch them grow as the years go by.
Nurtured with Gods watchful eyes and his unending love.

The Bride, The Bridegroom and the Bubbles

(Grace Mandry, used with permission from the author)

Why do we blow bubbles to wish them well?
Their existence is brief–as is their farewell
Fragile, translucent, round rainbows that fly
A touch, and they’re gone in the blink of an eye
Perhaps in their transience a lesson is learned
A lifetime of love must be nurtured and earned
Passion is fleeting, but compassion sustains
Beauty may vanish, but devotion remains.

The Groom and the Garter

(Grace Mandry, used with permission from the author)

The elegant bridegroom, dignified and refined
With pride and delight weds his sweet valentine
As tradition precludes all pretense and surprise
The bride’s lacy garter is his promised prize
With a flourish he flings it while the bachelors wait
When the garter is captured, then they all celebrate

Hankie Baby Bonnet

I made one for my granddaughter. I used a decorative handkerchief that had been my mother-in-law’s. It had very fine crocheted lace around the edges. I folded the handkerchief almost in half (the lace formed two rows that framed the baby’s face. The fold was plain and I ran a gathering stitch on the fold and pulled it tight, forming a circle, tied the thread in a knot. I then made ribbon rosette for either side of the front of the bonnet and had ribbon ties sewed under the rosettes. Hope these directions are clear enough. I have seen bonnets with more decorations which you could do also.

Here is the poem that goes with the Hankie Baby Bonnet:

I’m just a little hankie, as square as square can be,
but with a stitch or two, they make a bonnet out of me.
I’ll be worn from the hospital, or on Christening Day,
Then, I’ll be neatly pressed and carefully put away.
Then on the Wedding Day, as I’ve always been told,
Every well-dressed bride must have something old.
So what would be more fitting than to find little old me,
With a few stitches snipped, and a Wedding hankie I’ll be!
And if perchance it is a boy, some day he’ll surely wed,
So to his Bride he can present the hankie once worn on his head.

For a special baby
Loving thoughts and nimble hands
Created this little bonnet
Of fine lace and ribbon bands. At first it was a handkerchief
But with some stitches small
A bonnet was made for downy head
To be admired by all.
Mother will carefully store it
Gently pack it away
After years she’ll take it out
Before her daughter’s wedding day. She’ll snip the tiny stitches
Place it in her daughter’s hand
To carry, as a hanky, down the aisle
And receive her wedding band.

(For baby boy Handkerchief baby bonnet)

Mother’s son will find good use
For the square, when he’s a young man
He’ll give it to his sweetheart
When he asks her for her hand.

Life is to Share

A silver tea set, shining bright,
Romantic in the candle light.
Appliances costly, copper and brass,
Clothes of linen, China and glass.
These are gifts, lovely and rare,
Showered on the bridal pair.

But I would give with all wedding bands,
The joy of laboring with loving hands.
The pleasure that comes with painting a chair,
And the love that grows with the chores we share.
If I had my way, I’d make it a law,
Each bride gets a paintbrush,
Each groom a saw!

Wedding Dreams

I dreamed of a wedding of elaborate elegance,
A church filled with family and friends.
I asked him what kind of a wedding he wished for,
He said one that would make me his wife.

Hiya: thanks for using time of creating up this information. I at all times endeavor to further my understanding of stuff. Irrespective of whether I consent or disagree, I really like advice. I remember the olden times when the only source of specifics was the library or even the newspaper. They equally feel so archaic. Please excuse my bad english : )
